Naturopathic Treatment of FGID

I’ve mentioned in previous posts that I’ve had a fair amount of success using mint to lessen the impact of my FGID attacks.  I was reading an article yesterday from the Children’s Hospital of Chicago that talked about enteric-coated peppermint oil capsules and the benefits they have for FGID sufferers. (You can read the article here.)  Apparently peppermint contains a natural form of salicylic acid, the primary ingredient in aspirin, and it “slows” your gut down and stops the spasms. (more…)

Controlling FGID Attacks

I have FGID every day.  My stomach is never quite right.  Still, some days are worse than others, and after twenty years, I’ve got the symptoms that indicate a bad day down pat.  Put another way, there are things that happen that send an OH-MY-this-is-gonna-be-BAD message straight to my brain.  Here’s the short list for figuring it out (at least in my case).
