Bentyl: An Update

I wrote last week that my doctor had prescribed Bentyl as an alternative anti-spasm med for my FGID attacks. Well, I had a pretty good one spin up late last night, and so I took a Bentyl this morning to see if it would help.

On the plus side, it definitely seemed to lower the intensity of the attack.  Unfortunately, it most definitely put me to sleep, and left me pretty dizzy.  Having said that, the effect didn’t last all day like some of the other anti-spasm meds I’ve taken, so “net net” I think Bentyl might be a good option for treating FGID symptoms when I have the option of “going under” for about six hours.  It’s still not a solution that meets the challenges of staying on the job.
